Today, Instagram announced its new look for Explore — the feature that allows you to explore content from other Instagram creators. Inside, you’ll see a heavy emphasis on video channels that allow you to discover, sort and filter video on specific topics.

At the start, you’ll be met with “Videos You Might Like,” a curator that access video from across Instagram’s network and highlights its most popular offerings.

Also new to the Explore grid are “Featured” channels. Each of these channels features a number of videos on specific topics, similar to YouTube’s channel feature.

With both of the video features, the algorithm starts to match you to more content you may enjoy based on what you like. If you see something you’re not a fan of, tap “See Fewer Posts Like This” in the ‘…’ menu and you’ll cast a vote against seeing that type of content in the future.

Explore still works the same as always, but Facebook’s newfound desire to compete with popular video platforms — like Periscope and YouTube — is now findings its way into other Facebook properties.

The update is available today, but only in the United States. Instagram promises to bring these video updates to the rest of the world “soon.”
