Snapchat update brings longer captions, headaches for some users

Snapchat today released an update that gives users ‘more than double’ the previous character limit — a total of 80.

If your mind instantly ventured into April Fool’s territory, you’re not alone. A quick test of the feature seems to work, as promised. Snapchat also took to Twitter to put any of your doubts to rest and ensure its users that this isn’t a joke.

Of course, the new feature may come at a cost; some users are reporting they’ve been locked out of their Snapchat account after updating.

So far though, Snapchat’s social media team seems to be quick to respond and help those with issues accessing the service after the new update.

It’s been a busy week for Snapchat as this update is the second in three days. The first brought audio/video calling, stickers and notes to the platform.
