Uber has run afoul of taxi companies, but mass transit seems relatively unfazed. A new partnership with a company named TransLoc might even help you use the bus or train in addition to Uber, saving you from moving your delicate, spindly legs any more than necessary.
Like you can with some mapping apps, TransLoc’s Rider app will now offer to send you a “personalized journey that incorporates the optimal combination of walking, transit and Uber.” For transit stations that are a bit too far away for a reasonable walk — or if you’re pressed for time — this will come in pretty handy.

The “partnership” is really an API integration into TransLoc’s app, which will debut next month for the Memphis, Tennessee and Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina markets.
It’s not clear what the “optimal” balance of walking and riding are, but we hope this doesn’t let users avoid getting a bit of exercise.
