Report: Apple and Google are vying to stream NFL games next season

Apple and Google are both vying to livestream three NFL games next season, according to Reuters.

The NFL is reportedly entertaining offers from both companies, though Yahoo — which broadcast a game last season under similar circumstances —  is apparently not in the hunt. It’s also not clear if the three London-based games are being bid on as a package, or if the NFL will split them amongst various partners.

Google has YouTube, which is immediately suited to stream a game. Apple’s logistics for streaming weren’t detailed in the report, but it could be a play to round out the streaming service it’s apparently working on.

All NFL games in London take place in October. The Colts take on the Jaguars October 2, then the Giants and Rams take the field on the 23rd followed by the Bengals and Redskins October 30th.
