Oculus is giving its Kickstarter developer kit backers free Rift headsets

Oculus is giving its Kickstarter developer kit backers free Rift headsets

As the Oculus Rift is soon going up for pre-order, early Kickstarter backers of the company’s developer kit will get a proper Kickstarter headset as well.

Oculus took to its Kickstarter page to update backers, where it wrote that in addition to receiving the new consumer model headset, dev kit backers will get two games also offered in the pre-order: ‘Lucky’s Tale’ and ‘EVE: Valkyrie’

To claim a free Rift, backers only need to fill out a survey sent to them via Kickstarter. Oculus is giving them a February 1 deadline, and they must have a shipping address in “one of the 20 countries” Rift is launching in.

Sadly, we still don’t know how much the Rift will cost. Because Oculus is just being awesome to early backers, we also can’t glean a price based on a Kickstarter funding option.

Guess we’ll just have to wait for the sticker shock tomorrow.

Thank you from Oculus [Kickstarter]
