You’ll soon be able to buy Starbucks and fried chicken with Apple Pay

Soon, you’ll be able to buy fried chicken and coffee using only your watch. At the Code Mobile conference, Apple Pay Vice President Jennifer Bailey said both Starbucks and Kentucky Fried Chicken will soon accept Apple Pay.

Additionally, Best Buy is accepting the mobile payment solution, starting today.

Starbucks will start a pilot program later this year to work Apple Pay into the mix. By 2016, Bailey says all 7,500 Starbucks locations in the US will accept Apple Pay.

If you’re a die-hard Starbucks user, using Apple Pay won’t get you loyalty points. Those only come when using Starbucks’ own app.

KFC is currently planning to roll Apple Pay out in the US sometime next spring. Until then, you’ll need cash or plastic.
