TwitchCon to include huge LAN area, live broadcasting zone

TwitchCon to include huge LAN area, live broadcasting zone

Streaming platform Twitch announced its first-ever convention for broadcasters and fans, TwitchCon, earlier this year. Today, the company has shed more light on the event’s highlights and features.

Taking place on September 25 and 26 in San Francisco, TwitchCon will have an Intel-sponsored “Gaming Lab,” a huge LAN area that will include 144 PC-gaming stations. The announcement says that attendees will be able to play with well-known Twitch broadcasters in games like ‘League of Legends’ and ‘Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.’

Twitch will also provide an Education Zone to help attendees get the equipment and tips they need to maintain a professional channel, and a Charity Zone to connect them with organizations such as the Red Cross, Operation Supply Drop and Extra Life.

Indie games will also be a focus of the convention, with an entire stage devoted to indie developers and publishers like Devolver Digital and Super Mega Evil Corp.

Sponsors and exhibitors at TwitchCon are right in line with the game-broadcasting ethos, including ‘Guild Wars’ creator ArenaNet, Capcom (which will bring its professional ‘Street Fighter’ tour to the convention), and gaming PC manufacturer Alienware.

Twitch is also prioritizing the needs of its broadcasters by having a Broadcaster Zone sponsored by Razer. So, if you plan on watching Twitch in Late September, odds are you will see many Twitch notables live from the convention floor.

Single-day passes for TwitchCon are still available on the event website.
