The US government’s video on firework safety may be the scariest thing you’ll see all weekend

July 4 — and a plethora of fireworks — is upon us. The Consumer Product Safety Commission would like to remind you to stay safe, and have destroyed some mannequins to illustate just how dangerous fireworks can be.

The video, which you can see below, shows a series of circumstances you don’t want to be in. Don’t shoot bottle rockets at each other’s eyes or hold exploding M-80s, kids.

And definitely don’t lean over a firework that’s going to shoot into the air and explode. If mannequins are any indication, it’ll blow your head clean off of your shoulders.

Come for the yuks, but stay for the message. Annually, lots of people lose digits (or worse) using fireworks, so don’t be a show-off — stay safe this weekend.
