Mobile app intelligence platform App Annie has acquired Canadian mobile measurement company Mobidia for an undisclosed amount.
The aim of the deal is to expand App Annie’s Usage Intelligence product which gives developers insights into how consumers are actually engaging with their products.
As well as announcing the acquisition, the company is opening up Usage Intelligence to all users, following the launch of its closed beta in January.
The product provides data on mobile app usage in 60 countries across iOS and Android. Adding Mobidia into the mix means App Annie can now incorporate even more data and insights about hundreds of thousands of apps.
Mobidia’s Vancouver office will and its 30-strong team will now become App Annie Canada. Last year, App Annie acquired its rival Distimo, in another move designed to increase the amount of data available to its customers.
