After trialling the service in San Francisco, taxi-hailing service Sidecar announced today that it will be rolling out Sidecar Deliveries, its same-day local delivery service, nationwide in the coming months.

Sidecar says same day deliveries account for 10 percent of the company’s ride volume in San Francisco and that it expects deliveries to account for half of its rides by the end of 2015.

In San Francisco, Sidecar has partnered with food delivery service Eat24. So if you signed up to a be a taxi driver, you’re also now a delivery driver. But, Sidecar says that by combining ride-sharing and package delivery drivers can earn 75 percent more. Your car may now smell like a tuna melt, but you have more money heading into your bank account.

For potential delivery partners, Sidecar has an API that be integrated into their apps.
