World’s dumbest iPad thieves arrested after celebratory selfie syncs to victim’s iCloud

If you’re going to go through the trouble of stealing an iPad, you should at least wipe the device before taking a selfie.

Texas Police today arrested the two miscreants, Dorian Walker-Gaines and Dillian Thompson, after their celebratory selfie was automatically uploaded to the victim Stewart Schaefer’s iCloud account. Walker-Gaines also confessed to stealing $5,000, a laptop and other items from the victim’s unlocked vehicle.

Once the photos started circulating online, a Reddit user was able to contact one of Schaefer’s friends and provide the thieves’ names and birth dates.

They didn’t leave it at a selfie though; the vertical video may be the worst of crime of them all.
