Facebook will now start autoplaying video ads for mobile app installs

Facebook users may start seeing more autoplay videos. The company today announced that video advertisements for mobile apps can now play automatically on Facebook’s mobile software.

Although video ads have been available for mobile apps before, the new video content is intended for adds to persuade users to install mobile apps. Video increases the chance one of them will catch someone’s eye, particularly given the ever-increasing amount of users checking their social feeds on mobile.

So. Much. Tech.

Some of the biggest names in tech are coming to TNW Conference in Amsterdam this May.

Facebook is also introducing new ways of prioritizing videos most relevant to users on specific platforms or with particular apps installed. For instance, the company also announced improved targeting for Amazon Fire devices in its blog post.

The company first rolled out video ads to the masses in March, whereas Instagram started showing them a couple of months ago.
