Tips on restaurants and stores can be useful ways of getting the most out of your experience, but sometimes they become outdated as time passes. Foursquare announced today on its blog that it is introducing ephemeral tips, allowing you to create time-limited pieces of advice for the places you visit.

Now, when you leave a tip in Foursquare, you’ll see a clock symbol with the word “Forever” in the bottom left hand corner of the app. Once you tap on it, you can change the amount of time the tip will be useful for, including the ability to set specific dates for things such as seasonal sales.
It’s a thoughtful feature that should help make Foursquare’s information more relevant and keep you more in tune with timely advice.
