A long road back: Myspace hits 36m users, up from 24m prior to its relaunch in January

Earlier this year, Myspace relaunched its once-dominant social network with a massive redesign to attract new and former users. Today, the company revealed that its user base has now hit 36 million, up from 24 million prior to the reboot in January.

Myspace hit 31 million users just two weeks after its beta period ended, triggering a slow-down in sign-ups over the summer. The company claims that its social network has been growing steadily though, due to its renewed focus on original content such as CRWN and Live At The Log Cabin.

Without question, it’ going to be a long road back for Myspace. The growth in users, however small, shows that the social network still holds some appeal, but is this all a case of ‘too little, too late’?
