
At the D11 conference today, Mary Meeker released her 2013 Internet Trends report. The Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers partner discusses everything from the growth of Internet usage to mobile devices, and everything in between.

Here are some notable statistics (hardly a comprehensive list):
- 500 million photos uploaded and shared daily, rising at a rate of 2x year-over-year.
- 15 pecent of global Internet traffic is mobile, growing at a rate of 1.5 per year (and likely to accelerate).
- 1.49 billion smartphone subscribers, 31 percent growth.
One slide worth highlighting is number 45:

In case there was any doubt, this chart clearly dispels it all: tablets are definitely not a fad like netbooks were.
