Corona Labs, the multi-development platform firm, is boosting its offerings for app developers via the introduction of Corona Plugins.
With Corona Plugins, developers seeking to create cross-platform applications, games and eBooks for platforms including iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and NOOK, will be allowed easy access to more functionality and monetization options.
So. Much. Tech.
Some of the biggest names in tech are coming to TNW Conference in Amsterdam this May.
The monetization capability is what will likely draw app developers to Corona Labs’ flagship development platform, Corona SDK.
Developers will be able to tap into third-party services that Corona Labs is partnering with, with the first wave of partners including SponsorPay, Tap for Tap, Inneractive, Green Throttle and Carrot.
SponsorPay is a value-exchange advertising platform that helps monetize content for mobile and social app publishers, while Tap for Tap is a network for iOS and Android apps that includes a free tap exchange, paid promotion, and an app monetization network.
Developers on Corona Plugins will also be able to integrate plugins into their apps by adding only a few lines of code to the project without sourcing for additional software.
“Corona Plugins and the functionality they provide have been highly anticipated by Corona SDK developers,” said David Rangel, COO of Corona Labs.
Started five years ago and previously known as Ansca Mobile, Corona Labs has raised $3 million in funding, including a $2 million financing round in November last year. Earlier this year, it launched a new service called Corona Cloud, said to make it easy for developers to integrate multiple third-party services.
