Video-on-demand service Viewster appoints new CFO, opens offices in US, UK, Australia and Singapore

Video-on-demand service Viewster appoints new CFO, opens offices in US, UK, Australia and Singapore

Viewster, a free video-on-demand service, has hired Helen Biggart as its new CFO and Tzvetan Horozov as SVP of Product Management and is expanding internationally with new offices in New York, London, Singapore and Adelaide.

Though Switzerland-based Viewster is a relatively small player in the VOD industry, it already works in 120 countries. Last year, it saw its user base grow seven-fold as it served up over 1 billion videos.

“With more viewers choosing to watch films and TV shows on-demand, we’re seeing a big shift in advertising spend away from linear TV. To capitalise on this trend and the rising demand for our service worldwide, we are turbo-charging our international expansion with new office openings and a raft of regional hires in our key markets,” Viewster CEO Kai Henniges said.

Prior to joining Viewster, Biggart worked at Touch Clarity, which was acquired by Omniture. Horozov is a veteran of Motorola.

Viewster’s new offices will be focused on business development. The service is ad-supported, so the regional offices will be tasked with interfacing with advertisers.
