Tweaky, which operates a marketplace where you can have small things fixed on your website for a minimal fee, has raised $460,000 in seed funding from 99designs and Flippa.com co-founders Mark Harbottle and Matt Mickiewicz, and their SitePoint Group.
Formerly known as Themepivot.com, Tweaky was founded by Australian entrepreneurs Ned Dwyer and Pete Murray, who won a local edition of Startup Weekend in Melbourne last November.
Dwyer, who serves as CEO, explains the reasoning behind the service:
“Web site owners are fed up paying upwards of $150 an hour to a local web developer, or wading through quotes on freelance marketplaces for a better deal. Tweaky.com now provides web site owners with a compelling, cost effective alternative when it comes to customizing their web sites.”
How cost-effective you mean, since that’s just a nicer way of saying cheap?
