Watch: Marissa Mayer talks about why she first decided to join Google

With today’s news that Google VP of Location Marissa Mayer will be taking over the CEO role at Yahoo, it’s a good time to go back and figure out exactly what makes her tick and what we can expect from her at Yahoo.

In an interview that Mayer did in 2011 for the Computer History Museum, she addresses a number of topics, but she spends time specifically discussing why she joined Google. Bear in mind, when Mayer signed on, Google was but a scrappy upstart.
