UppSite, which officially launched its free web-to-mobile service at the recent DEMO Conference in Silicon Valley, will use part of the freshly raised cash to open an office in the San Francisco Bay Area. It has secured $2.7 million in total to date.

Its service enables the creation and app store distribution of HTML5 apps and native mobile applications for iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone.

One of the most notable companies to have teamed up with UppSite is Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, making the startup to be part of the WordPress VIP Featured Partners Program.

UppSite was founded by CEO Gal Brill in April of 2010, and currently has eight full-time employees.
