Viewbix lands $2 million for its interactive video creation and analytics platform

Viewbix, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based company that offers a nifty interactive video platform and analytics software suite, has raised $2 million in Series A financing in a round led by Canaan Partners with participation from Longfellow Venture Partners.

Viewbix’s platform allows small and medium-sized businesses and non-profits to put a custom, interactive layer of ‘apps’ on top of their video content to increase user engagement, conversion and social sharing.

Its solution works with videos hosted on popular platforms such as YouTube and Facebook, or any self-hosted video. Users can customize the player with their own branding along with custom calls-to-action, or they can incorporate apps like maps, registration forms, or photos straight into the player. Here’s an example:

It also works with The Next Web videos, by the way. :)

Additionally, Viewbix provides support for third-party services like Twitter, Flickr, Skype, MailChimp, Yahoo Weather, and others.

Says Jonathan Stefansky, co-founder and CEO of Viewbix:

“There are millions of businesses and organizations worldwide who rely on video content to promote their enterprises. Our technology enables these businesses to radically increase the effectiveness of their videos by turning passive video viewers into customers who take action.”

The company also provides a suite of analytics that allow users to understand how viewers are interacting with their videos, which can lead to valuable insights.

If you’d like to give it a go, Viewbix is offering The Next Web readers a free one month subscription to its premium solution. The premium version of Viewbix includes several additional customization options and many additional apps. It normally costs $19.95, but you’ll be able to try it for free if you’re one of the first 250 readers to redeem the offer here.
