Spotify announces 1.5 billion Facebook shares and 1,500 years spent in apps

Speaking at the AdAge Digital Conference earlier today, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek announced that as a result of its partnership with Facebook, the company has now seen over 1.5 billion Facebook shares and also 1,500 years worth of music streaming within its apps.

In addition to a number of juicy statements, including a partnership with Coke and the announcement “that every intelligent device within 2 years will have access to Spotify,” some cold hard data has been released:

The numbers are astounding, and we’re seeing them elsewhere as well:

At this presentation, it looks like Spotify’s partnership with Coke, as well as McDonalds, Reebok and Intel, has received top billing. Clearly, this ushers in an entirely new way for Spotify to monetize its platform, while drawing strong connections between users and brands.
