Samsung launches My Movies app in partnership with BIGFlix in India

Samsung today launched a My Movies app for Galaxy S and SII smartphones and the Galaxy Tab 750 tablet in partnership with the Indian DVD rental and content streaming service BIGFlix, according to a report by Indian Tech News.

The My Movies app will allow users of the aforementioned Galaxy products in India to stream over 2,000 hours of video, spanning movies, trailers, TV shows and music videos. The current streaming library is pretty small and will be interspersed with ads, but a future version of the app will provide customers the option to sign up for BIGFlix’s premium offering, which offers over 1,000 feature-length movies, including over 500 in high definition.

Ranjit Yadav, country head of Samsung Mobile & IT in India, said, “By providing consumers with India relevant applications and rich content on our Smart Mobile devices like tablets and smartphones, we are seeking to make their experience with our devices more engaging and immersive.”
