Google has officially unveiled its newest Nexus tablet device today in the form of the Nexus 9, an 8.9-inch device which will arrive running the Android 5.0 Lollipop of the Google mobile OS.
Announced today, the new device will feature a brushed metal frame, 64-bit processor, front-facing HTC speakers and a detachable keyboard folio (the latter, Microsoft Surface-esque accessory is sold separately). The Nexus 9 also comes equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.6MP front shooter.
The device is available for pre-order on October 17 and will be in stores on November 3 in your option of white, black or gold. You’ll have the option of 16GB or 32GB models starting at $399 and $479, respectively. An LTE-enabled 32GB model will also be available for $599.
The new tablet is also joined by a 5.9-inch Nexus smartphone, the Nexus 6, along with the Nexus Player, a streaming device running Android TV.
