Google Play services updated with Google Fit testing, a new Drive API and enhanced analytics

Google has begun rolling out Google Play services 6.1 with a set of new APIs for developers. The new features include an Enhanced Ecommerce extension for analytics, improvements to Drive support, and testing capabilities for the upcoming Google Fit platform.

Enhanced Ecommerce provides “richer insights into pre-purchase shopping behavior and into product performance.” The Google Drive API for Android now includes a Completion Events feature. The File Picker UI has been updated with Material Design elements. Google has also added a setParents() method for organizing files.

Google says the update is rolling out to developers over the next few days, with the documentation and SDK coming shortly after.
