Google acquires visual effects rendering service Zync Render for its Cloud Platform

Google has announced the acquisition of Zync Render, a scalable computing service for visual effects, and will integrate it with Google Cloud Platform.

Zync Render offered movie studios the extra rendering capacity they needed when wrapping up big projects like Star Trek Into Darkness or Looper. Zync says the move to Google will help it achieve lower prices, per-minute billing, better scalability and more host packages.
