Check out this Auto-Awesome video shot with Google exec Vic Gundotra’s quadcopter at Stanford

Urs Hölzle took fellow Google exec Vic Gundotra‘s quadcopter to Stanford University last weekend for a spot of filming.

We’ve covered drone videos in the past – this aerial montage of New York is awe-inspiring – but it’s always interesting to see how Google’s top brass are experimenting (or just playing around) with the technology.

Another conference. “Great.”

This one’s different, trust us. Our new event for New York is focused on quality, not quantity.

The DJI Phantom 2 Vision quadcopter offers a novel perspective of the iconic campus, and the final edit was put together automatically via Auto-Awesome Movies in Google+. It’s a novel example of the platform’s smart video-editing tool, and highlights how what would have been lifeless stock footage can now be transformed into a neat montage for sharing on the Web.
