At around 10:00 AM EST today, some Gmail users started reporting the service was down for them, possibly limited to the Latin America area. 40 minutes later, Google confirmed the issue and said it was looking into it.
The Apps Status Dashboard has marked Gmail with a “Service disruption” message that reads as follows: “We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly.”
Update: As a workaround to access Gmail, try Using a VPN.
