While HD video calling in Google+ has been a possibility for publicly broadcast Hangouts On Air video chats, it isn’t one that has been available for those private calls with your family and friends, until today.
To use the HD feature (or indeed, to disable it) simply use the slider in the top-right hand corner of the Hangout. Google does note that HD Hangouts do require a little more bandwidth though, around 1.2Mbps on both upload and download. To send HD video, you’ll also need at least a 720p HD camera, obviously.
