Google has released a video on YouTube that creates a vision of how Project Glass could work in the future. It’s shot from the point of view of a person wearing the spectacles and has a slightly disorienting effect, but is pretty cool nonetheless.
Geolocation, calendar and messaging notifications pop up in the field of vision of the protagonist has he goes about his daily routine and uses voice commands to control the flow of information in front of his eyes.
Project Glass appears to be an experiment for now, but it’s a science fiction fantasy that many would love to pursue. It seems to create an AR effect overlaying the natural world with live information. The project’s G+ page has some interesting looking prototype designs that seem a little strange at first but people get used to changes quickly if something is useful.
We think technology should work for you—to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t. We started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment.
