Google has rolled out a new, universal version of Google News for smartphones, which replaces the Android, iPhone and Palm Pre changes it made a year ago.
The new touchscreen mobile interface for news includes a larger story area for easier tapping on articles. Also, you can now tap anywhere on an article or title to open it up from the news feed. The default view of stories is also collapsed to reduce scrolling. To access the new site, just go to http://news.google.com from your smartphone.
