Google: We Have 1 Billion Weekly Search Users, Launching Constant Search Improvements

Today at Google’s oh-so-classy search event at the SF MoMA, their search team tossed out two very interesting facts: more than one billion people use Google search every week, and Google has rolled out ‘hundreds’ of upgrades to search so far this year.

This highlights the brainshare that Google has in the search market, and its massive ability to iterate its product ahead of the competition. Now, how big a change has to be to count as an ‘upgrade’ is subjective, but between index speed upgrades, real-time tracking and other recent changes to Google show that many of the myriad changes were in fact substantial.

Google just released Instant Search, so check that out. Oh, and that one billion people? That makes Google search one of the “biggest services” on the web today the company said. Well done, Google.
