Google Maps suggestions get smarter.

Google Maps suggestions get smarter.

Google has been working quietly, behind the scenes, to bring us a smarter suggest function for Google Maps.  It was launched, on an experimental basis in 4 international markets “a while ago”, according to Google LatLong.

As of today, Google is making the official announcement, and releasing the features in 8 more languages on maps.google.com.  Now, more areas around the world should be able to pull search results via Google Maps that are more relevant to their particular area.

Of course, the most relevant suggestions will be given when you’re signed in to your Google account.  When signed in, you’ll get even more suggestions based on past searches, and driving directions if you’ve set your default location.

Give it a try, if you’re in one of the areas where it has been released, and let us know what you think.
