Boomshakalaka! NBA Jam update lets you play as LeBron, Trump, Harambe and others

Boomshakalaka! NBA Jam update lets you play as LeBron, Trump, Harambe and others

One of the greatest arcade games of all time just got an update that allows you to trade in the likes of Karl Malone and John Stockton (what a great combination) for players like LeBron James, Steph Curry, and other 2017 fan favorites. Or, you can just go all Teen Wolf on the game and play as fallen hero Harambe.

It’s not the first roster update to the 1994 console classic, but it might be the best.

Aside from the above-mentioned stars (and gorillas), you’ll have players like Kyrie Irving, Russel Westbrook, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, and Kevin Durant at your disposal. Or, if you’re feeling nostalgic, you can run with classic players like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and Patrick Ewing.

And just for laughs, there’s a whole class of secret players like Kanye West, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump.

Thanks to the saintly hackers over at Hogs With a Blog, every roster has been updated with the official 2016-17 version. The teams, though, haven’t. Seattle still plays host to the Sonics, and Charlotte is home to the Hornets.

The updated rosters are only available via an SNES emulator. If you don’t have one, there are free options everywhere, and it’s certainly worth the effort to get one running on your Windows PC, Mac, Android device, or Raspberry Pi. Once you’re up and running, you can get the updated ROM file here.
