I can’t wait to play this True Detective-inspired mystery game

We’re living in the golden age of television, folks. Between seminal works like Game of Thrones, Narcos, American Crime Story, Stranger Things and Master of None, we’ve been spoiled for choice when it comes to picking something to binge-watch.

Game studio Variable State has clearly taken notice: Its upcoming mystery title, Virginia, takes cues from shows like True Detective and Fargo in its attempt to create a chilling atmosphere with its puzzling adventure set in small town America.

The game sees you take on the role of FBI agent Anne Tarver as she investigates a missing person case in the quiet town of Kingdom, Virginia, where a young boy has vanished without a trace.

If the trailer above has piqued your interest, check out the PC demo, which is already available on Steam; the full version will become available on September 22.
