In the future, DJI drones could paint in the sky and follow you around

DJI is known for making some of the world’s best commercial drones. Having launched its 4K-shooting Phantom 3 in August, the company wants to let people know it hasn’t yet run out of ideas.

Its new rendered video shows off what it’s calling the ‘Phantom X Concept’, doing all kinds of cool things like taking off automatically after being chucked in the air and following users around as they bike through forests.

The clip also shows how multiple drones could fly in tandem, shoot video from various angles and be controlled from a single interface.

There’s also a mention of a somewhat creepy-sounding feature which would allow you to send strangers requests to follow them with your drone.

While the last bit may not thrill you the way the company intended, the video is certainly worth a watch to see how drones might work in the near future.
