OnePlus One OxygenOS rollout scheduled for end of March now delayed

Handset maker OnePlus has announced that its upcoming OxygenOS rollout has been delayed.

Due to arrive before the end of March, the update to OxygenOS has been set back due to “extra quality control.” An official release date wasn’t given, but the post says that “we will release as soon as we feel that it’s good enough for you and it will be very soon.”

The company added that the CyanogenMod upgrade that was also due to be rolling out before the end of the month would be delivered “as soon as possible,” but that OnePlus has little control over CyanogenMod’s release schedule.

While it’s probably disappointing news for handset owners keen to get their hands on the new OSes, it makes sense for the company to ensure it receives full Google certification for its forked OS before starting to roll it out more widely.
