Facebook announced that it’s rolling out its Live Video feature to all of its users last month, which is great. But you know what isn’t great? Getting a notification every time anyone you’re friends with or follow is live.
Well, Facebook has decided that this won’t need to be a bugbear for much longer. The company has confirmed to Digiday that it will be rolling out an option in the next few weeks that allows users to block all notifications about Live Videos.
In the meantime, you can click on individual video posts to unsubscribe from future notifications but this won’t stop them all from coming through.
It will be a welcomed change by users but brands and businesses using the Live Video feature might not be so thrilled. One consolation is that Facebook will continue to push the live posts to the top of our news feeds.
