If you envisaged flicking through Instagram this weekend then it might be worth taking an extra coffee and coming back a bit later as the Facebook-owned photo app is down right now due to a “feed delivery issue”.
Update: It looks like the service is back and working for a lot of people — TNW staff included — though that has not been confirmed by Instagram.
We first noticed the outage, which is affecting the website and mobile apps, at around 9:00 EDT so this is a lengthy outage. The Instagram team is on the case now, however, so the app should be back working soon.
We’re working to fix a feed delivery issue. Thank you for your patience.

Facebook bought Instagram for $1 billion back in 2012. The price was questioned by many at the time, but the company has gone from strength-to-strength under Facebook’s ownership: it now has over 200 million monthly active users and more than 20 billion photos have been shared on the service to date.
