Facebook yesterday filed a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in an attempt to get its hands on a number of domain names containing the word ‘facebook’.
While it does that on a regular basis (as any company should, especially of that size), some of the domains it is asking to be transfered are mildly amusing and / or a bit odd.
The list of 20 contested domain names includes Myspace-Facebook.com, FacebookSafetyPup.com, FacebookLikesPages.com, Fäcebook.org and my personal favourite, FacebookAteMyBaby.com.
We’ve contacted Facebook PR to ask if the company genuinely eats babies and is trying to get a hold of the latter domain name to hide those horrible practices from the public, but we haven’t heard back so far.
In the meantime, keep your infants close.
