According to Facebook, it would like to make your mobile experience a tad more secure. In a blog post from the security team today, it outlined some of the initiatives that the company is using to make that happen.

Here’s what Facebook had to say about it today:

At Facebook we are always working to improve our systems and products so you can use them anywhere, any time, and on any device. We’ve spent a lot of time over the past few months making sure that your mobile experience is just as good as when you’re at home sitting at your computer. As such, we are happy to announce a few improvements to our safety and security products that will now be available to the nearly half billion users that access our site using a mobile device.

With two new initiatives, Code Generator and reporting unwanted content on your phone, Facebook wants to make sure that it doesn’t fall prey to what companies like LinkedIn have in recent days.

If you’ve found something on your News Feed that you think is inappropriate, you can now report it from your mobile device. Until now, it’s a feature that has been available on the web-version of Facebook only.

You can click on the feedback icon for the News Feed story or the Comment link, and then choose which action you’d like to take on the content, be it report or hide.

Mobile is still in its infancy, and security measures must catch up with the demand and usage. It’s good to see Facebook taking proactive steps to make sure that happens.
