How to register for Facebook’s new Timeline feature right now

How to register for Facebook’s new Timeline feature right now

Facebook today announced a revamped profile called the Timeline at its annual F8 conference. The new Timeline takes the place of your profile and provides a realtime stream of everything you’ve done, all the way back to your ‘birth’.

The timeline is a realtime stream that shows you all of the events, images and posts that are important to you, while hiding the items that it feels are not important. A sort of ‘automatic autobiography’. Timeline is wider than your old profile, bringing in all kinds of visual goodness, allowing you to choose your favourite photos of yourself, listing posts and photos and big life events.

Facebook intends to roll out the new feature gradually but at the moment it requires users to register. To do so, head over to the new Timeline page, look towards the bottom of the screen and hit the Sign Me Up button on the menu. Once clicked, you will be make your profile eligible for the new feature, ensuring you can be one of the first to access it when it becomes available.
