Visit http://iphone.tvcatchup.com on your iPhone, click a channel and you are greeted with 12 channels of clear and crisp UK telly, and I stress clean and crisp.

Channels current include BBC 1, 2, ITV, Channel 4, ITV2, BBC Three, 4Music and more. The player plays in both landscape and portrait and features a pause button too. Legally, you will need a UK TV license, and do be careful watching on 3G, you just never know when you might cross O2’s “fair use” policy.

Launched in late 2007, the site went threw a great deal of trouble convincing the licensing commission of its legality. Since relaunching in beta in late 2008, the service now makes it abundantly clear that users should be in possession of a UK TV licence to watch television as it is being broadcast and has introduced strict geographical blocking and encryption measures to prevent direct access by those not entitled to use the service.

On 30 May 2009 the site launched a redesigned look and several new channels.
