Quickblox Q-municate lets developers build their own Whatsapp with ease

Quickblox Q-municate lets developers build their own Whatsapp with ease

Quickblox, the startup that offers modular communications tools for developers, has unveiled a new offering that allows developers to build their own complete messaging app or feature without hassle.

While Quickblox previously offered modules for chat, push notifications and WebRTC-based video calling, Q-municate ties it all together into an open-source package complete with chat bubbles, friends lists, Facebook invites, file attachments and all the other features users expect in a complete messaging app. The idea here is to commoditize mobile messaging, so that it can be a drag-and-drop feature that developers can add to any app.

The Q-municate beta is available now, along with an update to Quickblox’s Chat module. The module now comes with an improved API that can handle chats, rooms, chat history and the like.
