Aviary launches its free photo editor SDK for Windows Phone 7 with 15 minute integration

With photo editing at its core, Aviary is a New York City based startup that wants to power every mobile photo application on the planet. Now, with iOS and Android under its belt, Aviary is announcing the release of its Windows Phone 7 SDK, with launch parters RowiRekapPostcard on the Run (available soon) and 4th & Mayor (also available soon).

The growing community of Windows Phone developers had been quite eager for this launch since details of development plans leaked back in February. Now, the SDK is finally here, extending the total reach of Aviary’s gorgeous and customizable photo editor.

More details, from Aviary:

– Redesigned SDK from the ground-up to take advantage of the Metro design principles of Windows Phone

– The same, easy integration process: add our editor to your project in as little as 15 minutes, with just a few lines of code

– Customizable color theme

– Controllable output size based upon developer preferences — you decide what makes the most sense for your app or service

… Not to mention that Aviary for Windows Phone has all the standard features as the rest of our mobile SDKs

From Bryan Biniak, VP of Global Partner and App Development at Nokia:

With the new Aviary SDK for Windows Phone 7, developers can create ground breaking applications that take advantage of the unique features of Nokia Lumia devices, like the Lumia’s Carl Zeiss lens, as well as to bring their existing imaging apps to Windows Phones consumers around the world.

Aviary aims to democratize creativity and help other companies keep innovating at what they do best by providing them with the best photo editing and photo effects available – for free. Overall, the results are quite beautiful. You can see for yourself right now, via the links below:
