If thereâs one bit of creative user interface design that I love, itâs the animation that appears when youâre about to send an email in MailChimp.
The chimpâs finger hovers over the button, dripping with a tasteful amount of stress-sweat.

While it looks a little out of place compared to the rest of MailChimpâs interface, it does a brilliant job of making you think. âDid you check your email? No, did you double⊠triple-check it? Are there any typos? Do all the links work? Have you said anything that will massively offend your subscribers?â
Sure, MailChimp could have just written all of that out, but an animation paints a thousand words and it really does induce a feeling of stress that forces you to check the email one more time. After all, once itâs sent, thereâs no going back.
So, letâs raise a glass to the sweaty monkey finger.
