Google has released an upgrade to its photo enhancement plug-in package, Analog Efex Pro. Version 2 is available as a free upgrade for all existing Nik Collection users. A free 15-day trial version is also available.
Analog Efex Pro recreates classical, vintage and alternative photographic processing techniques to give images a unique and old-fashioned look. The upgrade features new control points, cameras and presets, and new ways to showcase images.
The control points update lets you tweak Photo Plates, Light Leaks, Dirt & Scratches and Basic Adjustments controls.
Analog Efex Pro now provides a larger assortment of new cameras and presets to leverage filters such as Black and White, Subtle Bokeh and Simple Color.
Three new filters in the Camera Kit let you showcase photos with Motion Blur, Multilens and Double Exposure settings.
The update also supports more languages and offers performance and stability improvements.
The full Nik Collection is $149 and also includes Silver Efex Pro, HDR Efex Pro, Dfine, Color Efex Pro, Viveza and Sharpener Pro. Nik Collection owners should download the free trial, whose 15-day limit will automatically be removed.
The plug-in works with the last few versions of Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Photoshop Lightroom and Aperture. It’s compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or higher and Windows 7 and 8.
