Hyper Island coming to Australia

Hyper Island coming to Australia

The Communications Council, Australia’s peak body representing the communications and marketing industry, has announced it is bringing one of the world’s leading institutes for digital education, Hyper Island, to Australia to host a series of master classes in Sydney and Melbourne.

The Communication Council has long run some of the best programs in the country for training up communications and marketing professionals, so the fact they’re going to great lengths to organise a local Hyper Island is a real endorsement of the quality of the program.

For those unfamiliar with Hyper Island, the program was developed in Sweden in the mid-90’s and uses unconventional teaching methods, based on Swedish Military training, in order to promote new ways of sharing information and building marketing and communications industry leaders.

The plan back then was to turn Stockholm into a digital media hub, something which it managed to achieve with great success. With some luck the master classes planned by the Communications Council will help us have similar success here.

Since its inception the program has grown to have offices in New York, London and Manchester and has been exported to many other countries around the world. While the teaching methodology is unique the real success of the program is in how highly regarded graduates are, with many students going on to find jobs in some of the most innovative organisations in the world including Google, Apple and IDEO.

“We are tremendously excited to be bringing this digital institution to Australia, especially as it is the first time Hyper Island has offered its master classes in the Asia Pacific region. Through Hyper Island, Australian communications professionals will gain exposure to an entirely unique learning methodology, which centres around team effectiveness, global digital trends and group leadership skills,” says Daniel Leesong, CEO of The Communications Council.

“We have developed our learning method, totally focused on digital communication, for more than 15 years. And it is global. Our success in the UK and US clearly shows that. We are now extremely happy to be able to offer the industry in Australia the opportunity to take their businesses to the next level through the unique Hyper Island training, says Mattias Hansson, CEO of Hyper Island.

Details of the Master Classes have not been finalised, but you can get all the current details as well as register your interest in the program HERE.
