Japan’s NTT Docomo finally began offering the iPhone last September, and now the country’s largest operator has reached an agreement to carry the iPad from next month.

The operator will begin selling the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina from June 10, with pre-orders accepted from June 2. The devices are available with no down payment on some purchase plans — the full list of pricing plans can be found here.

Japan has been a particularly successful market for Apple, despite the company initially struggling there. A recent report from Tokyo-based MM Research, via Bloomberg, estimates that the iPhone has a 37 percent market share. A deal with Docomo is said to be a key factor in raising Apple’s market share by over 10 percent in one year.
