In an ongoing effort to showcase independent developers, Google is having an āIndie Games Festivalā on September 24 at the Terra Gallery in San Francisco.
Developers that meet Googleās criteria (US or Canadian developers with 15 or fewer on staff) can submit apps util August 14, and the company says it will choose āhigh-quality games that are both innovative and fun.ā Only games published in 2016 are eligible.
Google is also encouraging VR games for Cardboard and AR Tango games as well.

The plan is to put selected games in front of more eyes, including hundreds of consumers and āindustry influencers.ā Those selected will also be competing for I/O 2017 tickets, Tango devices and Google ad campaign support.
At the end of August, apps that made the cut will be announced. Admission is free, so if youāre in San Francisco, feel free to drop by and check out some cool Android games.
